All Deering instruments are produced in the USA at their factory in Spring Valley, California, just east of San Diego. They have been producing some of the finest banjos in the world since they opened for business in 1975. Deering Banjos produces a wide range of instruments for all types of banjo players- traditional 5 string banjos for Bluegrass and Country players, 4 string tenor banjos for Celtic and Jazz players, and a number of 6 string options for people with a background in guitar playing looking for another voice in their music. They produce a series of banjos under the names “Vega,” “Tenbrooks,” “Goodtime,” and “Deering.” This family-run business also offers a factory tour if you ever find yourself in the San Diego area. Deering has an impressive artist roster which includes Bela Fleck, John Hartford, Jens Kruger, Mumford & Sons, Taylor Swift, Steve Martin, Keith Urban, Dropkick Murphys, Doc Watson, and many others! Goodtime Openback $399.99

The Goodtime Banjo is perhaps the most popular and high quality & value beginner banjo on the market today. Known for its quality components and excellent tone, the Goodtime Banjo is money wisely spent. While fitting into most budgets, the Goodtime is still produced in the USA by Deering Banjos in California. It features a maple neck, a 3-ply violin grade maple tone ring, hardwood fingerboard inlays, and quality tuning machines that make this a great instrument to learn on and a fun “travel” banjo for players looking for something lightweight and affordable. The original Goodtime is an open-back banjo. For an instrument with a resonator, check out the Goodtime 2. 4 string tenor versions ($419.99) and a left-handed model ($449.99) are also available. The Boston series of Deering Banjos is so named after the long tradition of Boston, MA being the proverbial center of the banjo universe some 100 years ago. A fairly unique banjo design, the Boston series features a steel tone ring not often found in production banjos. With a mahogany neck and resonator, the Boston is known for its sweet, projecting tone and is favored by many professional artists despite it being the most budget friendly banjo in the Deering Professional Series. Also available in a 6 string and 4 string tenor configuration. Hard Case included.

Eagle II 5 String Resonator $2199.99

Another great flavor in the Deering Professional Series, the Eagle II features the patent pending Twenty- Ten Tone Ring, a 3-ply violin grade maple rim along with a stained maple neck, the Eagle 2-piece flange, and a Maple Resonator stained in a dark red mahogany. The tone has a strong mid range with good bass and vibrant highs, giving it good versatility for Clawhammer, Bluegrass, and other traditional styles of play. Gloss finish. Hard Case included.



Sierra 5 String Stained Maple Resonator $2199.99

The quintessential Deering Professional Banjo. It features a pot assembly of 3 ply Violin Grade Maple, Deering’s -06- Tone Ring, a one piece zinc flange, and a Deering tail piece and armrest make this a Deering standout. With a Maple Resonator stained a beautiful dark red finish and an Ebony fingerboard, this banjo has bright, crisp professional quality tone that has excellent clarity and note separation.
